The first year after the World War I, Rolex had two big changes coming, first, the whole company move to Geneva; the second event is, it start putting the focus on waterproof and automatic research.
In 1927, Mercedes Gleitze, a world famous famale swimmer, wore a Rolex Oyster waterproof watch swam across the Eglish Channel. During her 15 hours and 15 minutes swimming, that Rolex Oyster watch completely got nothing wrong, worked well, praised as “the crowning victory in watchmaking history”in that time.
